Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a holistic hands on manual therapy that recognises the important link between the body’s structure and function.
Osteopaths consider the whole body as a unit focusing on how the skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, circulatory system, connective tissue and internal organs are all working together.
Your Osteopathic consultation will start with a thorough medical history and whole body physical examination (just some easy movements). Each treatment is tailored to the specific needs of each individual patient and will include education on how to manage your condition.
Treatment will use a range of gentle hands on techniques such as mobilisation, stretching, manipulation, soft tissue massage, visceral techniques and cranial osteopathy (cranio-sacral therapy). I aim to enhance your body’s function and to help you achieve your health and wellbeing goals.
Osteopaths are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and have undergone five years of university training graduating with a Bachelor of Clinical Sciences and a Masters of Osteopathic Medicine.
The range of problems patients discuss is broad and can include (but is certainly not limited to):
